The File Finder is the graphical equivalent of the Unix find command. There is a simple version and a more comprehensive, but complex one.

The simple File Finder is shown below:

The Input to Command button is the equivalent of the -exec option. On pressing this button, the Commands window appears, allowing the user to select the appropriate command to execute on the selected files.

Pressing the Build Pattern button calls up the Pattern Builder, which can be used to specify the file name as a regular expression.

The comprehensive File Finder needs to call the Condition Builder, since the options of the Unix find command may be combined using or, not and parenthetical grouping, in addition to the default and.
