Sailor Saturn
Hotaru goes to Mugen Gakuen, and she's 12. In the manga, it says that she is in sixth grade. In
SailorStars, her age changes dramatically, from being a baby to about 4 to about 8. Then she goes
to the same school as ChibiUsa in the manga.
Hotaru is a sheltered, lonely girl with no friends. She is weak and any physical exertion causes her to
collapse. She has a strange power of healing, which grosses out the other girls at her school. (I
personally find that WEIRD. She lives in isolation
with her evil father, Professor Tomoe, in her home; her mother had died. Hotaru finally finds a friend
in ChibiUsa, and later the rest of the Sailor Senshi.
Hotaru becomes possessed by Mistress 9, an evil entity whose job was to prepare for Master
Pharoah 90's coming into the world. Master Pharoah could then bring the Silence, putting the world
into a cold sleep forever. Mistress 9 swallowed ChibiUsa's heart crystal for power. She is also
known as the Dark/Anti Messiah. Hotaru eventually prevails over Mistress 9, becoming
Sailorsaturn.
At the end of Sailormoon S, Hotaru is turned into a baby. By then, Tomoe had become good again,
and Hotaru is returned to him. In SailorStars, baby Hotaru is taken from Tomoe by Setsuna, who
needs her. Hotaru is the reason for the other three Outers' power-ups. After a battle where Hotaru
proved her power even as a baby, she grow to about 4 years of age. Later, Hotaru grows to about
8 when her Senshi spirit (Saturn) revived all of her memories. BTW, Chibi Hotaru is sooooo kawaii!
In the manga, she can play the violin too, like her mother, Michiru-mama. ^_^
