Luna, Artemis, and Diana
Luna, Artemis, and Diana.
Luna
Luna is the first cat we see. She's black with the yellow crescent moon on her forehead, which
prompts Usagi, in the manga, to claim her forehead is bald, which doesn't do well with the cat. She
finds in Usagi Sailormoon, and she gives her the ability to transform using a brooch. Luna's mission is
to find Princess Serenity and to defeat the Dark Kingdom. She leads Usagi to find three other Sailor
Senshi, Mercury, Mars, and Jupiter.
In the S movie, she becomes a human as a result of Sailormoon using her power to grant her that
wish. Luna poses as Princess Kaguya in order to help Kakeru, the man she loves. She's a very
pretty girl, and she doesn't look much older than the Inner Senshi.
Artemis
Artemis is the male white cat. His owner is Aino Minako, Sailor V and Sailorvenus. He finds
Minako in England, and he gives her the power to become Sailor V. Later, they meet up with the
other Sailor Senshi in Tokyo, and V becomes Venus.
In the SuperS manga, he becomes a human in order to save Minako from falling off a platform that's
*really* high. He also gives her her power-up to transform into SuperSailorvenus.
Unfortunately, Artemis gets the shorter end of the stick in the anime. He is constantly in a state of
disarray, and Luna likes to make fun of him quite often. (The zoo episode in R comes to mind.)
However, he still loves Luna, and he becomes incredibly jealous and hurt when he realizes that she
has a crush on someone else. (S movie and manga 11) They make up, though, so everything's pretty
good until SuperS.
Diana
Diana is the kitten of Luna and Artemis, and the present from Neo-Queen Serenity and King
Endymion to their daughter, Chibiusa for Christmas. (This is explained in manga 11.) She varies
from pink to grey, so she's kind of pinkish grey, I guess, and she is VERY cute... One of her cute
habits is calling Mamoru and Usagi by -sama.
She first appears in the R manga when Chibiusa takes Sailormoon, Sailorvenus, and Tuxedo
Kamen to the future with her. Diana informs Luna and Artemis that she is their daughter, and they
are extremely shocked. In the anime, she appears in SuperS by cuddling up to her father, Artemis,
calling him her dad. Luna and the Sailor Senshi assume that Artemis had an affair with another cat,
and as a result, Luna smacks the artemis rather harshly.
