Trip Meals for Field Trip Adventures

Heres an idea I had that had occurred to me after I put the Antenna Test Schedule together. It comprises a BASIC field readiness plan to keep people happy and comfortable! Please feel free to advise me (wa6bfh@aol.com) on its short comings.

Breakfast

Eggs

Sausage (smokie link [hot dogs] also work for lunches and dinners)

Chili (works with eggs, and leftovers work at dinner see dinner)

Cheese (mild is best for general workability - sharper works better for snacks/dinner)

Bread (Sourdough makes nearly foolproof toast over a cook stove etc.)

Raw Potatoes for hashbrowns (also work with most dinners)

Coffee

Fruit juice

water

Lunch

Sandwich meats

Mustard, Mayonnaise, & condiments

Bread (more Sourdough works well all the way around and won't dry out)

Fruit Juice, soda, beer, wine (be careful, alcohol will dehydrate you)

WATER

Snacks

Fruit (keeps up energy and also helps keep you hydrated in a desert climate)

Chips, Cheetohs, etc.

Picante sauce (may also provide a dinner seasoning), dip etc.

Dinner

Hot dogs (are simple and satisfying especially with chili and condiments)

Hamburger (is more satisfying but, only if patties are made beforehand and frozen)

Chicken (only if you can clean it and braze it well)

Chili (leftovers from breakfast?)

Crock Pot (or Dutch Oven) roasts work simply and well with tomatoes, onions, beans, and
potatoes (if you have the power [110 VAC] and time to cook it - prepare at breakfast and let it cook!)

Soups {canned} (or even dry -- if you have enough water)

Cheese (mostly for breakfast or snacks)

Don't forget Salt & Pepper

Mustard or other seasoning sauces

WATER

Required utensils

Plates, knives, forks, spoons (remember big knives for roasts)
Plastic utensils for eating
can openers

paper towels

matches,
briquettes,
lighter fluid

Propane cigarette lighter (not a replacement for matches, but definitely handy)

ice

Butter (I like "I can't Believe its not Butter" which comes in small tubs)

toilet paper (and a small shovel)
