For Those Who Contact Us
By John Wendt WA6BFH

For those who contact us at techbench@geocities.com with "technical questions", please try to place your question in a generic contextual format. We understand that when you are stating your question, you are thinking in terms of a subject and problem that is very familiar TO YOU! We on the other hand have to think about the "generic nature" of your question or problem!

Examples of our dilemma are things like when somebody perhaps asks "how do I know when my FT-xxx is really tuned"? Even if we recognize that the model designation "FT" relates to some model of Yaesu radio, if one of our society does not own this model we have do a lot of research before we can even attempt an answer! If a more generic question is asked such as "what sort of antennas fall within the impedance transformation range of my MF/HF transmitters automatic antenna tuner" or perhaps, "will an end-fed Zepp be able to be directly tuned or impedance matched by my MF/HF rigs automatic antenna tuner", in these last examples any one of us could give you an answer off the top of our heads that will give you a multitude of information!

Thank you for your help and consideration !
