Pokémon is set in a fantasy world populated by 151 different imaginary creatures called Pokémon, each possessing unique, special powers or abilities. In the Pokémon environment, human beings act as Pokémon trainers, capturing as many of the creatures as they can. The Pokémon then join the trainer's team and help capture other Pokémon, enabling their human companions to become "Pokémon Masters".
The game is designed for Nintendo's Game Boy and is split into two different versions. Red, Blue and now the new Pikachu Yellow. Each version contains the same game, but different Pokémon. To be able to collect all 150 Pokémon, trainers must link Game Boys with each using a different version of the game. This way, Pokémon can be traded from game to game.
As the game progresses and your Pokémon win battles, they will evolve. This happens when they react a certain level. Some Pokémon will only evolve if you give them a stone, and some will only evolve if they are traded.
In the game, trainers need to travel from city to city in Pokémon world to collect badges from Gym Leaders in each city. Along the way, they also have to collect all 150 Pokémon.
