This is a message that was posted on the Hairnet Hotline by Justin describing his 'impulse purchase' of a buzcut. It is an excellent product testimonial. It was posted in response to a message from a 16 year old guy who was considering shaving his long hair.
I'm 15 and I just got my longish hair clipped off into a very short buzzcut. I grew my regular haircut out for about six months without any cuts. My hair happens to be wavy when it gets longer. Today I was in town and when we passed the barber shop my mother said that I should get a trim, just so that my hair would look neat after six months of growth. I wasn't sure whether I wanted to or not. But she dropped me off and I went in.
I had to wait for about an hour because there were so many people. Finally when it was my turn I sat down in the chair and the barber put the cape around my neck. Just when he was getting some things ready the kid next to me walked off with really nice short hair. I thought that it actually didn't look too bad, and also the difference wasn't too big. Then my barber came back and asked me how I wanted my hair cut. He also asked me how long it had been since my last cut -- you know the answer. When I was ready to tell him to just trim it, I said "do it like that his", pointing at the kid that just stood up. The barber looked at me and said "buzzcut?". He asked me whether I was sure about this and if a #2 was short enough. I only had to say yeah once and the clippers where buzzing.
Soon big swats of long curly black hair were falling into my lap. It didn't seem to stop and the hair just kept on coming. When he was finished he asked "short enough buddy?". Just then I took a good look at myself in the mirror and WOW what a difference. I could not belief how big that pile of black curls around the chair and in my lap was; I actually had all that stuff on me. I absolutely love my new haircut, it looks and feels so cool. My mother was very surprised to see me without curls and with hair that is so short. But she actually liked it and was glad I got it cut. The change from long to short is so cool, you don't realize how short it is until you run your hands through it and there is nothing to pull on.
I would definatly urge you to try a buzzcut, just like me from 5 inches to a quarter inch is definitely a new look. It's so cool !
