High and Tight with Medium Short Flattop

More photos from Buzztown reader Dave in Japan. This is the third series of photos he has sent showing his progression to a shorter style. In these pictures, he has had the top cut into a flattop, while keeping the high and tight sides.

The side views, and especially the back view show the flattop shape. The close-up view of the top show a good example of a flattop on hair that is somewhat curly. Flattops can work well on hair that is some curl - although they're not suitable for very curly hair. The top view picture also shows the different angles that the hair can grow out of the scalp, especially with curly hair.

Here are Dave's comments about his latest cut:

"I'm planning on keeping it trimmed every week, so with it being Japan, I'm pretty sure it'll keep getting shorter. Once the warm weather hits, I'll be all set with an extremely short flattop."

The pictures below show Dave's progression from a regulation cut, to a high and tight with a medium/short brushed-forward top to a very short high and tight flattop.

The pictures taken of the back of the head show how the shape of the head is changed by the different excellent styles.

Thanks Dave for sending in these excellent photos.
