Crewcut with High and Tight back and sides and a shaved part

This series of photos shows the cutting of a #2 crewcut on top of the head, with the cut high & tight. The special feature of this cut is a shaved part. A "shaved part" is a line cut into the hair using the clippers to give the impression of parted hair, when the hair is too short to be parted. In the first photo, the back and sides have been taken high and tight.

The front and edges of the remaining top hair are evenly trimmed.

The third shot shows a closeup of the top before the part is created.

In this photo, we can see the "part" being created by using the edge of the clippers (without any attachment guard) to cut a line into the hair.

The final product with the part cut. The shaved part allows a short crewcut to still project a neat "combed to the side" look when there isn't enough hair to comb. This style is getting to be very popular with athletes, especially basketball players.
