Until recently nearly all soundclips had to be downloaded before they could be played. The quality was okay, but watching it crawl slooowly through an overpopulated connection, could turn me mad. This is about to change thanks to Real Audio (no; I get no provision...). At IUMA you'll find loads of independent music. To search through tenths of thousand clips you should take a day off and beam yourself to World Wide Music and tunes.com. These two sites are simply massive!

As always it was the small record companies that were first, but now even the big ones are present (see below). So if you wanna stay updated, you know what to do:
