  • Motorola - A huge web site with a great deal of useful information, though it's somewhat haphazardly organized, and it can be difficult to find things. Here are some useful sub-pages: Microcontrollers, Freeware BBS, and General Site Search.

  • Microchip - Microchip has some of the best data sheets and application notes in the business, and a good selection of free, high-quality software for download.

  • National Semiconductor - A truly useful web site, with online datasheets in both HTML amd PDF formats, application notes, budgetary pricing, and samples that can be requested directly from the web pages.

  • Maxim - Another high-quality web site, with online datasheets and app notes, budgetary pricing, and samples that can be requested directly from the web pages. The only negative is that you have to log every time you try to do something, which is a bit of a pain.

  • Dallas Semiconductor - A good selection of data sheets and app notes, but doesn't provide online pricing or allow sample requests.
