Chapter Nineteen

The future is uncertain

On the way home, I learnt more about what it was like to be a Hanson.
The trials and tribulations of millions of fans and how sometimes they wished they were average kids again.
‘It’s not like we change, it’s just everyone knows about us now.’ Tay explained.
‘Yeah, and we get a little fed up with people knowing every single detail, or thinking that they do!’ Ike complained, smiling ruefully.
‘Wait till you meet Zac though!’ Tay told me.
‘Boy are you in for a treat! Lately he has been way hyperactive!’ ‘I can’t wait! I want to know if he’s as crazy as I am led to believe by every interview you guys do!’
‘Well you sure won’t be disappointed!’
The next few days went by in a flash and it took me three days to realize that Diana or any other members of the Hanson clan hadn’t called me back about another lesson.
Mom told me that they were probably too busy and not to get too upset if they didn’t ring in the near future.

A telltale blush crept up his face.
I grinned.

‘Ahhhh! So that’s why he was in a hurry!’
‘Yeah. Oh, do you wanna go for a walk? I could give you a guided tour of this part of Tulsa!’
‘Sound’s great! I’ll just get a drink.’
Taylor waited in the kitchen while I fussed around for a few minutes.
I was still coming to terms with being friends with Hanson.
And I hadn’t met Zac yet either.
When I was ready, we took off in the general direction of Tay’s house.
As we walked, he apologized for not ringing, explaining that they were so busy with their upcoming tour.
We walked down Basker Street for awhile, Tay pointing out various things and making me laugh before we turned off the road onto a small track through the pine forest which took up a lot of Tulsa’s west.
‘Where are we going?’ I asked him, dodging branches.
‘Oh, there is this great spot I know about. I just wanted to show you.’
I shrugged and followed.
After about ten minutes of scrambling through the forest, We found ourselves out in the open on top of a hill overlooking the center of Tulsa.
‘Wow this is great! How did you find it?’ I asked him, taking in the view.
‘Oh, we own this land. I used to come up here all the time. Pretty
