‘So, your mom told me you were going to be in a drama show?’
‘Oh, yeah. My drama class is making a drama series called ‘Secrets and Lies’ and it’s kind of on the same line as Dawson’s Creek and Malibu Shores. But it’s really good! I am going to play a girl who rocks in from LA who sings. That bit was based on me but the rest is not that true!’ I smiled.
‘What’s the rest?’ Taylor asked.
‘Oh, I have a very mysterious nature and no one knows my past. I also, uh, get the boys all interested shall we say!’
Taylor mumbled something I didn’t catch.
I was too intimidated to ask him to repeat it.
‘So, have you made many friends? I guess you would have.’
‘Yeah. Quite a few actually! And no enemies as yet! Touch wood! Oh, I am actually a friend of Louise Bouncer.’
‘Oh Louise! Yes, the boys have known her forever. Do you know Sarah too?’
‘Yep! I just came home from her place tonight! I was over there. She rang me when I got home and told me a cute guy had just moved in next door and I had to go round there and check him out!’ I laughed.
Mom was back.
‘Yes. And she’s not one to pass up the opportunity to look at guys!’
Taylor laughed.
‘Oh come on! Like you are never on stage and see a hot girl and spend most of your time looking at her! I could just imagine you all backstage going, ‘Oh did you see her!’’ I grinned at him.
He grinned back.
‘I never said I didn’t! But Ike is worse!’
‘So, you saw Lynn the first day you arrived then?’ Diana asked me.
‘Yeah. I saw a notice for a singing thing in the auditorium at lunch so I went. She knew who I was even! It was a bit weird! She told me Mrs. Holden, my teacher in Anaheim had told her I was coming! It was so bizarre!’
‘Yeah, getting praises from someone you’d never met!’ Taylor agreed.
‘I guess you’re used to it though!’ I laughed.
He shrugged smiling.
‘So she told me to sing and then when I’d finished, she told me there was no room for me there. I thought she was telling me to leave or something! But then she told me about you and to come back after school. I did and she told me she’d told you about me and all.’
‘Really! But you didn’t know she was my mom?’ Taylor asked.
‘Nope! Actually, Louise and Kate said imagine if it was Diana Hanson, but they never said anything about actually knowing you!’
‘They were probably in on it too!’ Taylor laughed.
‘Probably!’
Diana went to say something but Taylor butted in.
‘Hang on, you said you went to see Mrs Smith after school last Tuesday?’
‘Yeah.’
‘Jeez! You must have missed Ike, Zac and I by just minutes! We always go to her when we are home on Tuesdays! And we went to her that day!’
‘Oh my gosh! Really? Oh, come to think of it, I saw three guys get out of a red car as I was leaving! That was you?’
