Over by the wind.......
Even though he knew that for as many people who liked them for their music there were just as many who liked them just because of what they looked like, he always found it a little uncomfortable to think about.
Taylor and Zac stood impatiently on the pavement outside Timezone and waited for their older brother to return.
Ike sprinted down the street towards where he had left his brothers.
‘Ike! Where the hell have you been?’ Tay jumped up and strode towards his brother.
I mean, this girl didn’t even know them, how could she possibly ‘fall in love’ with one of them?
Suddenly the girl sighed to herself and mumbled,
‘Oh Ike! Why didn’t I tell you while I had the chance?’
She replaced the CD, turned and walked out of the store.
Ike stood grasping his CD a little shocked, staring after the girl.
‘Wooah!’ he muttered.
‘What was that all about?’
Watching her step out onto the street, Ike suddenly realized.
‘Oh my god!’ his hand flew to his mouth.
He dropped the CD back in its place and took off after the girl.
The arcade had shut ten minutes ago and Ike was still not back, leaving Tay and Zac out in the cold.
He’d been gone two hours and Tay just knew they would get it when they got back.
It was dark and their mother would be freaking out.
‘Where the hell is he?’ Tay spat, pissed to the max.
‘If we had the keys, you could drive us.’ Zac mused thoughtfully.
Tay looked at him goggle eyed.
‘What? Are you insane? I can’t drive!’ he cried incredulously.
‘But you’re nearly old enough.’ Zac told him.
Tay shook his head in amazement.
When would Zac ever grow up?
It was like he was still in the third grade when he said things like that.
Tay found it hard to believe he was almost fourteen.
‘Zac, just……just don’t say anything ok?’ Tay slumped down onto the pavement.
If he had to wait for Ike, he may as well wait comfortably.
He had totally lost track of the time and he knew Tay and Zac would not be happy.
But he had had the most amazing time.
Who would have thought, after all these years?
It was fate, he knew it was. No it was Destiny.
She had come back to him.
Ike puffed as he reached them.
‘Sorry guys! I lost track of the time.’ He apologized.
‘Yeah, you sure did! And I can see why, I mean wandering around shopping by yourself is such a thrilling experience that you just seem to get so wrapped up in it.’ Tay rolled his eyes sarcastically at Ike and strode off in the direction of the car.
