Limbo.......
'Tay, come on. You might see some hot girls.' Zac tried his luck.
Ike jumped in the driver seat of his dad's station wagon and started the engine.
As soon as Ike pulled up outside the Timezone, Zac was out of the car and in the door.
Ike turned to his brother, concerned.
Tay watched, admittedly a little forlornly as his older brother left the arcade.
Zac was entirely engrossed in his second lap of Indy 200 and didn't even realize when Tay came and stood behind him.
Ike meanwhile had been strolling down West Fifth soaking in the anonymity he was enjoying for the first time in as long as he could remember.
'I said no.'
Tay watched as his door opened and his brothers strolled in.
'There's a thing called privacy you know.' He snapped, standing.
'Yeah? Your point being?' Zac decided to get crabby back.
'Look Tay, I don't know what your problem is but I suggest you get over it.' Ike snapped.
'Oh go jump Ike! What's it to you anyway?'
'Tay right now I couldn't get a crap about your stupid moodiness, we're going, do you want to come or not?'
Without a word, Tay grabbed his jacket and followed his brothers out the door.
'Where too?' he asked as Zac called shotgun and jumped in the front and Tay reluctantly climbed in the back.
'Let's find an arcade!' Zac suggested.
'Let's find a fountain to drown Zac.' Tay mumbled.
Ike turned to face his brother.
'You are under no obligation to be here Tay. I'm not gonna take your shit so either give it a rest or go back up to your room and sulk, choice is yours.'
Tay shut his mouth.
He was not in the mood for Tay's mood swings.
'Tay? What's up?'
Tay stopped just as he was getting out of the door.
'If it was any of your business then I'm sure I would have notified you.' He snapped before slamming the door and following his younger brother inside.
Ike didn't want to spend a lot of time in the arcade and as he would be in Seattle for at least another month recording a live album, he decided he would take the time to look around a little.
Besides, one more minute with Taylor would have sent him over the edge.
But he had to find his brothers and tell them what he was doing first.
He found Zac at Shoot 'Em Hoops game and called that he was going for a walk.
Zac dismissed him with a wave of his hand.
It was lucky Ike knew Zac and knew that he wouldn't be going anywhere in a hurry.
Then he found Tay sitting on a chair staring off into space.
'Tay?'
Taylor didn't register Ike's presence.
'Tay? I'm going for a walk. You gonna stay here?'
This time Tay raised his head.
'Yeah whatever.'
'Ok, I'll be back in a little while.'
Tay went back to his staring.
Ike rolled his eyes and left the arcade.
Whatever Tay's problem was, right now Ike was through caring.
And he did feel a little mean about the way he had just treated both his brothers.
But for the life of him he could not figure out why he had done it.
Was it because of that girl?
God! If it was, he had some serious issues.
For crying out loud, he'd seen her once in his whole damn life, didn't even know her name and more importantly, was never going to see her again.
Tay decided to snap out of his daze, forget about the girl and go and try to patch things up with his brother Zac.
'Rrrrrr rrrrrrr rrrrrrrr!' Zac hooned around a dangerous hairpin turn and past the finish line.
'Yeah baby! Numero Uno!' he shouted gleefully as his finishing position flashed up on the screen.
Tay slapped him on the back.
'Well done bro! You really kick at this game!'
Zac turned and smiled at his brother.
'Thanks! You wanna try your luck against the Indy king? Or do you just wanna admit defeat now?' he sneered.
Tay jumped onto the bike next to Zac.
'You're on!' he told him slipping a coin into the slot.
The two boys prepared to fight it out until the very end.
Today, no one recognized him as Isaac Hanson, today he was just another person on the street and he couldn't have been happier with the arrangement.
Although he loved life in the spotlight most of the time, he also cherished this, if only short lived, bout of anonymity that he hadn't experienced for the longest time.
Thinking that, he started humming Billy Joel's 'For the longest time', his mother's favorite song and a tune he and his brothers had sung many a time over their relatively short lives.
'Oh oh oh oh, for the longest time, oh oh oh, for the longest time……' he breathed the words as he entered a large music store he had found himself in front of.
He knew going into a music shop was cutting his anonymous presence a bit fine, especially so soon after a concert, but he had heard a great song on the radio and he wanted to see if he could get a copy of it.
He was browsing through the 'G' CD singles when he noticed a pretty girl with dark hair come up beside him and start looking at the Hanson singles.
They were practically touching.
Ike's initial reaction was to turn and leave, for fear she would recognize him, but after a moments deliberation he decided to stay.
What did it matter if she did recognize him anyway?
So she'd get to meet someone she obviously liked, and plus she was pretty hot, so it was not like it would disadvantage Ike to talk to her.
Sneaking a glance in her direction, he noticed with amusement and slight surprise that she seemed not to be interested in which single it was, but she was staring intently at the picture of the three of them on the cover.
