Cruel: Storms on the horizon......

Storms on the horizon.......

Something told her it was deeper than that, so much deeper.
‘But it’s not anymore darling. You don’t have to worry. Taylor’s safe now. Nothing will ever hurt him again. And it will never be dark for him again.’
Jessica nodded.
‘I know momma. Tay told me. He said he’d be safe always and he’d look after us.’ Diana felt the knife twist in her heart.
‘Then what did he say?’ she whispered, holding her daughter close.
‘He said goodbye momma. He told me he loved me but he had to go. He said goodbye.’
Diana spilled more tears than she thought she had left in her entire being.
‘Don’t cry momma, it’s ok. Tay’s flying with the angels now.’

Why?
Why?
Questions.
No answers.
Tears.
No relief.
Pain.
No release.
No break in the storm.

A war raged within Zac.
A war he knew he could not win.
A war against himself, against Tay, against life itself.
He didn’t know anything anymore.
He didn’t know why Tay had done it.
Why he had hurt Zac so much.
The only thing he did know was that he wanted nothing more than to join Tay.
To be with Tay again, in his new world.
Of light and angels and happiness.
God’s world.
For he could not bear the thought of life without him.
He did not want to believe that there was life without him.
He wanted it to be a dream, a nightmare from which he would wake up.
He wanted it to be over.
The shard of glass in his hand knew it could be over.
The pain in his heart told him the same thing.
But the look on his mother’s face made him bleed.
He let the glass fall.

‘Walker?’
‘Yes?’
‘Have you decided what you’re going to say?’
‘What can I say? How can I tell the world that Taylor is dead? I don’t even know how to tell myself.’
