Winter Moon.......
Darkness enveloped the room.
Ike cried himself quietly to sleep for the second night in a row.
Not even Tay.
‘Walker? I miss my little boy.’
So dark.
So quiet.
Why was everything suddenly so much bigger and harder than before?
Why were the normal, everyday trials of being who he was suddenly now so hard to cope with?
Why was the room so dark and quiet and lonely?
Where had the sun gone?
He just could not stop the tears.
And the feeling of painful guilt that he carried with his every thought.
‘Oh Tay. I am so sorry!’ he murmured pitifully into his pillow.
Since that night, Tay had not come out of his room, and no one had heard anything from him.
It was as though he had simply vanished.
Shooting the video had to be postponed, as well as all of Hanson’s other commitments, as Tay had locked himself away in his room, and no one, not even hotel management could unlock the chain that Tay had fastened across the door.
There was no way in.
Ike knew he would have kept his feelings hidden, however much pain it caused him, if he’d had any idea what his being with Destiny would do to Tay.
He would have hidden them three times over.
But how could he have known?
Of course he’d known that Tay would be upset, but to close himself up in his room for two days, without food?
No one had had any idea.
Not even Tay could fully comprehend why he had shut himself away in his room for the past two days.
It was beyond him.
He just could not open the door and face the world.
He could not even open the heavy curtains that were drawn tight around his room.
Often, in those two days, Tay had found himself staring unfocused into the mirror, vaguely questioning why he had locked himself in.
He could never quite figure out the answer though.
And, almost every time he found himself asking that question, he found himself asking why he was still here to even think about it.
But he had sunk too far into his depression, in so small a time, that he was no longer able to remember the cause of it.
The only thing he could remember was Destiny.
And his heart ached.
Diana sobbed uncontrollably into her husband’s chest.
