Coming closer.......
Destiny crept up to Tay’s door and knocked quietly.
Taylor felt like he’d been hit with a ten-ton freighter.
‘Ike! Ike! Quick! Tay’s fainted or something! Ike!’ Destiny bashed frantically on Ike’s door. ‘Ike!’
‘Destiny?’ Tay whispered.
As soon as Ike left Tay’s room, he regretted it.
She heard a soft noise from behind.
‘Whoisit?’ a sleepy voice muttered, along with,
‘GowayIsleepin’anditsonlyseven!’
As quietly as possible, Destiny eased the door slightly open.
‘What the…..?’ she heard Tay mutter as she swung the door open.
She braced herself for a cry of disgust and anger, but the reception she got was anything but what she expected.
Tay was sitting up in bed, his blankets crumpled all around him, rubbing his eyes.
When Destiny had the door fully open and was standing in the doorway, Tay stopped rubbing his eyes and looked up.
When he spotted her, his eyes widened and his hand flew up to his mouth.
‘Oh my…….’
His head spun out of control and he could not move.
Like she had just stepped out of his dream and into his reality, she stood there, before him, smiling.
Tay was certain he’d died and gone to heaven.
‘How….why……angel….why……how did you know?’ Tay breathed as the girl moved closer to him.
She laughed. ‘Tay……’
‘But…you…..were, I mean, I knew it was meant to be, a sign……….but……’
Destiny frowned slightly.
‘Huh? Tay what are you on about? What do you mean a sign? Tay, don’t you recognize me? It’s me, Destiny!’
Tay felt the room spin as he closed his eyes and passed out on the bed, right in front of Destiny.
Ike heard the banging and flew to the door.
‘Dest! What? What is it?’
‘It’s Tay! Quick! He’s passed out or something!’
‘Oh shit!’ Ike followed Destiny to Tay’s room.
When they got there, Tay was sprawled out on the bed, eyes closed.
Ike bounded over to him and shook him gently.
‘Tay! Tay! Wake up! Taylor!’
Slowly Tay stirred.
Ike helped him sit up.
‘What the……’ Tay shook his head to clear it.
‘Tay? Are you ok? You scared us! Destiny said you fainted.’ Ike held his brother’s shoulders.
Hearing that, Tay’s head snapped up and focused on Destiny.
Destiny grinned.
‘I didn’t know I had that kind of effect on guys! I never did before!’
‘Dest. Is that really you?’
‘Yeah baby! In the flesh! Miss me?’ she walked over and threw her arms around her long lost friend.
For a few seconds, Tay was so shocked he could not respond.
Destiny, his first love and best friend was back.
And she was his angel as well.
This was too much for Tay to take in at once.
He finally managed to respond to the hug and wrap his arms around her.
‘Wow! You never used to hug like that!’ she joked in his ear.
When she finally pulled free, Tay managed to ask,
‘You were at the first concert weren’t you?’
Destiny smiled and Tay nearly passed out again.
His angel’s smile. He couldn’t stop himself from grinning back.
‘Yeah! How’d you know?’
‘I saw you. Only I didn’t know it was you.’ Tay’s voice became barely a whisper.
‘I thought you were an angel.’ He added under his breath.
‘Huh? What did you say?’ Destiny asked.
‘Oh, nothing.’
Just then, Walker and Diana carrying an unhappy Zoe rushed in.
‘What was all that noise? We thought we heard yelling?’ Walker demanded.
Ike looked from Tay to Destiny and then to his parents.
‘Yelling? Wasn’t us. Must have been someone in the elevator.’ He shrugged.
‘You sure? It sounded a lot like Destiny.’ Diana asked suspiciously.
‘I wasn’t me Di. But I did hear some girls go up in the elevator. Maybe they were looking for Hanson!’ she smiled.
Diana sighed. ‘Probably! I don’t mind the fans, but at seven in the morning? That is stretching it a little.’
Walker agreed and Tay, Ike and Destiny nodded their heads also.
When all was sorted out, Diana and Walker took a sobbing Zoe back to their room.
Tay turned to his brother.
‘Thanks Ike. I don’t want to worry mom and dad.’
‘No probs. So why did you pass out anyway?’
Tay dropped his head so Ike couldn’t see his eyes.
Ike could always tell by Tay’s eyes when he was lying.
‘I don’t know. Must have been something I ate. I wasn’t feeling well all yesterday.’
Ike shrugged. ‘Ok. I’m gonna go see if Zac is up. You two catch up.’ And he left the room.
Destiny plunked herself down on Tay’s bed and grinned at him.
‘We have so much to catch up on!’
Tay could only nod.
He could tell Tay had not fainted because of something he ate.
He knew there was more to it, and he knew it involved Destiny.
He also knew Tay would still do anything to get Destiny and he knew he would do more than anything to get her for himself.
So it was a really bad idea to leave the two of them alone together.
And there was something Tay had said which had really worried Ike at the time.
Only now he couldn’t remember what is was and why it had worried him.
