This little butterfly uses the same
pattern as the one shown further down on this page, but it was
a personal accomplishment for me. I have a box of old tatting
thread in so many wonderful colors. My goal was to someday be
able to crochet with it! I made this little butterfly from old
Star tatting thread and I used a .60 mm (size #16) hook. I am
so happy with how it turned out, I can't wait to make more butterflies
in more colors! :) |

I made these two thread potholders
for my grandparents. My grandma mentioned that many years ago
she had a set of "for show" potholders that someone
made for her that got lost in a move. She said they were a dress
and some pants. I did some digging and I found the patterns for
her. These come from Star Book No. 55 from the American Thread
Company, copyright 1947. I used Southmaid threads for these.
The pants trim looks dark, but actually the color I used was
Evergreen. |

I made this potholder for a friend,
using a combination of old and new threads. The yellow part is
DMC Traditions thread, while the white and multicolored variegated
for the flowers is vintage. You can find a pattern for a teacup
potholder at Jodhi's
site. |

I made this butterfly towel
insert from a pattern in one of my vintage crochet books. It
is made with some vintage Clark's O.N.T. #30 thread that I have.
I am always on the lookout for old thread since I love the colors
and it is just fun to work with! This butterfly can be found
in several vintage 10 cent pattern books. The one I used came
from Star Book No. 65, "Flower Edgings" by the American
Thread Co., 1949. I bought my copy of it on eBay.
I also found the same pattern in "Crocheting Edgings"
by Rita Weiss, Dover Needlecraft Series, 1980. ISBN number 0-486-24031-2. |

My first sachet! This is from
J&P Coats, #201 Quick Crochet Gifts. I used ecru Aunt Lydia's
crochet thread. Isn't it cute? I think it is. I still have it
sitting in my trunk. I haven't decided who gets it. |

This little bookmark was my
first filet project. It is a pattern someone sent me, so I do
not know the source. I do know that its name is "Catnap."
I have made several of these as gifts. I used Aunt Lydia's thread. |

I made two of these suncatchers.
I gave one to my grandma and one to the listowner of Crochet
Network for her birthday. The pattern is called "Star
Bright," and it is from Trish
Kristofferson's webpage. I modified mine a little from her
pattern and I also trimmed it differently, so it does not look
exactly like hers. I made this with #35 Almond Pink Knit Cro-Sheen
crochet thread. |
