CROCHET PROJECT PICTURES

Miscellaneous Dolls

I have tried to give pattern sources as completely as I can with each project so that if you want to, you can find the pattern to make it yourself. Please do not write asking for patterns. I regret that I cannot fill those requests.

This 15 inch Santa is a Christmas gift for a friend. The pattern is called "Vintage Santa" and it is #FCM483 from Fibre-Craft. He wasn't hard to make once I found the Santa parts! He has a cloth body that I had to stuff, and the hands and head had to be attached. I could not find the boots, so I bought another style of Santa doll who had boots, and that Santa graciously donated them for this project. It's not easy giving this one up. Maybe some day I will make one for me.

I made this little Court Jester doll for a friend's birthday. She is from the American School of Needlework leaflet, "Cindy Doll Delights." She was fun to make!

This is a bad picture of a really cute doll that I made for my Grandma. She is "Peppermint Candy" (Fibre-Craft #FCM162, c. 1989). She is supposed to be made in red, pink, & white, But I made her with sage green and cream. The hat is from Fibre-Craft's "Mary Quite Contrary" (FCM165) pattern. I will have to ask Grandma to take a picture since mine is so poor.

This pillow doll is named "Rosalie," and comes from the pattern leaflet "Red Heart Victorian Images - Bed and Bath Accessories to Crochet." (c. 1991 Coats & Clark) She was made for an order. I changed some things about the way this doll is trimmed, and the hat comes from another pattern since the Rosalie pattern did not have a hat, and the buyer wanted one. Luckily I took a picture of this because I immediately got an order for another doll as soon as this one was delivered. :) That is the second doll pictured, made with Raspberry, Off-White, and Evergreen Simply Soft yarn and a brunette doll.

This was a fun project. This little 7 1/2 inch tall doll is from the 1940s or 50s. The pattern for her dress comes from the old 10 cent book, "Dolls and Dolls." (Star book #84, copyright 1951.) I used Clark's Boilfast thread of roughly the same vintage. This is size #20 thread that was originally white, but has aged to a lovely eggshell-like color.

This one is the "Pandora" witch air freshener doll. She comes from Fibre-Craft's leaflet #FCM477, copyright 1996. I changed a few little things about her - mostly how she is trimmed, but the pattern was well-written and I really had no problems.

This is the Christmas Angel from American School of Needlework leaflet #1215, "Angel Dolls." (Copyright 1995) She is made with Red Heart Classic yarn in white, and Caron Christmas Glitter in red (this yarn has a silver thread wrapping around it). The dress is decorated with red silk poinsettias. I used a 13 inch Fibre-Craft Music Box Doll. These are such fun to make! She is a Christmas gift.

This is the Flower Garden Angel from American School of Needlework's leaflet #1215 "Angel Dolls." (Copyright 1995) I made this for a friend I made through the Crochet List. She is quite similar to the Christmas Angel shown above, but this is a different pattern. I really enjoyed making this doll! Her dress is made with Simply Soft worsted weight yarn in Soft Yellow and Red Heart Classic yarn in white. Her dress is trimmed with assorted silk flowers. The dress fits a 13 inch Fibre-Craft doll.
