Sylvia's family and Shorti's Online VAS support group have teamed up once again to help further the battle against VAS and make a positive difference in the lives of animal  lovers around the world.

We are very pleased to announce that we have completed the printing of the very first VAS bumper-sticker (pictured above).  One of the most alarming statistics in the battle against VAS is that an estimated 70%-80% of animal lovers remain in the dark concerning the very existence of this terrible disease.

Whether it be via a vehicle bumper, window or bulletin board, your imagination is the limit as to where to display these stickers.

If you'd like to help spread the "word" about VAS and empower others concerning the facts relating to feline vaccinations, these 11.5"x 3" bumper-stickers are an excellent "avenue of education".
In an effort to help continually carry forth this "avenue of education", we're asking for a small donation of $1 per sticker.

To order your bumper-stickers or request more information regarding this or any aspect of our family's effort of education, please e-mail us at: Sylviasdad@aol.com

As we have always said, "Alone we hope to make a difference, Together there are no boundaries for New Hope".

Are you a parent who has a cat with Vaccine Related Cancer? Maybe you would like to join their online support mailing list. It might be helpful to talk with other owners who are also experiencing this cancer.

Shorti is a very special fur baby who has crossed over the Rainbow Bridge as a result of the sarcoma monster.  In loving memory and dedication to their dear baby, Shorti's parents Gigi and Chris have created the most wonderful online support group for feline loving families whose lives have been touched by this terrible disease.

 Sylvia's "Feline Vaccination Poster" campaign

When we  first began Sylvia's heartfelt journey back in October of 1996, the veterinary profession was estimating the incidence of Vaccine Associated Sarcomas to be about 1 in 100,000.   Now, over four years later, while a long term incidence study of this aggressive cancer continues, some of the nations leading veterinary professionals estimate that the incidence of VAS  falls somewhere between 3 in 10,000 and 12 in 10,000.  As we've always said, when you become the "1" in whatever the odds, the odds don't matter any longer.

Unfortunately, it is also estimated that between 70-80% of animal lovers continue to remain in the dark concerning the very existence of this aggressive cancer.  With the kind assistance of some very special friends, our family is pleased to have embarked upon another "avenue of education" in our continuing effort towards empowering others concerning the facts relating to the issue of VAS and feline vaccinations in general.

We've completed the printing of Sylvia's 10"x14" full color poster and we are now seeking to work together within the strength of our network of feline loving friends towards continuing to make a positive difference in the battle against VAS.

If you'd like to help spread the "word" about VAS and empower others concerning the facts relating to feline vaccinations, these posters are an excellent means to do so.
In an effort to help continually carry forth this "avenue of education", we're asking for a small donation of $2 per poster.

To order your posters or request more information regarding this or any aspect of our family's effort of education, please e-mail us at: Sylviasdad@aol.com

As we have always said, "Alone we hope to make a difference, Together there are no boundaries for New Hope".

The Journey Continues...........................

Wishing all of our dear friends MUCH love, peace and good health,

Below is the text of Sylvia's "Vaccination Poster"

Based on scientific studies, all kitties don't need all vaccines.

Discuss with your veterinarian the fact that feline vaccines have been associated with an aggressive cancer  known as "Vaccine Associated Sarcoma".

The American Association of Feline Practitioners recommend the following feline vaccination protocols:

Rabies administered in the right rear leg as distally as possible.

FeLV administered in the left rear leg as distally as possible.

FVRCP or "Upper Respiratory" administered as low as possible over the right shoulder (or given intranasally).

No injection, vaccine or otherwise should ever be administered in the scruff (between the shoulder blades) of the kitty's neck.

Discuss with your veterinarian the possibility of using an intranasal or adjuvant free vaccine, thereby reducing the risk of vaccine associated sarcomas.

Know that, over the years feline vaccines have done much more good than harm, but that some vaccine related side effects can be deadly.

Empower yourself with knowledge so that you can work together with your veterinarian towards developing the best vaccination plan to fit the "individual" needs of your furry family and reduce the risk of post vaccination sarcomas.
