A special section of our dear girl's inspired web effort where we are very proud to present pictures of feline lovers around the world who are helping to spread the "word" about VAS.
If you have a picture that you would like us to include as part of this new section of our "effort of education", simply e-mail us at: Sylviasdad@aol.com and we'll be very happy to fill you in on how to do so.
Also, if you are an animal lover wishing to help carry forth the "effort of education" in the battle against VAS, please e-mail us as we'd be very happy to help you in any way that we can.

Please be sure to visit our dear friends at "VAS Awareness",  a special group of people who have united due to the fact that they either currently have a cat being treated for this cancer or have had a cat that has died as a result of this cancer.
This wonderful group of animal lovers is truly to be commended for helping to carry forth the battle against VAS, with 4 major goals:

1)To prevent and decrease the incidence of feline vaccine related cancers (also known as "Vaccine Associated Sarcoma" or VAS)

2) To support ongoing research involving feline vaccine related cancers, vaccine safety, effectiveness and/or duration of protection studies.

3) To raise the public's awareness of Feline Vaccine Associated Sarcoma while educating cat owners about current professional veterinary guidelines for vaccines and about the availability of safer, adjuvant-free vaccines.

4) To encourage and support profession-wide education of Veterinary professionals regarding VAS prevention through the use of current professional veterinary vaccination guidelines, and through the use of currently available, safer, adjuvant-free vaccines.

Please also be sure to visit the special section of their website dedicated to displaying the numerous "Avenues of Education" that their wonderful group continues to carry forth.

This new section of our dear girl's web effort was inspired by dear Bonkers, a very special furry friend of ours who after a valiant battle with the sarcoma monster has now made that heartfelt journey to the land of love and comfort.  In loving memory of their dear Angel boy, Bonkers' family continues to work tirelessly towards empowering others with the information that will hopefully prevent them from having to share in the heartache associated with this terrible disease.

This is Pat, who lost her dear baby Autumn to Vaccine Associated Sarcoma. Pat contacted her Connecticut Congressman Jim Maloney and together, they are working towards helping to enact legislation that will ensure the good health and safety of our furry families.

These two pictures represent our family's "tabling" efforts at Circus McGurkis, the annual people's fair celebrating it's 30th year in Lakeview Park, St. Petersburg Florida.
Circus McGurkis is a project of the Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and the Tampa Bay Peace Education Program. These groups carry on their programs as an expression of a belief in the dignity and worth of each person and in faith in the power of love and nonviolence to bring about change.
This public event that Coleen and I tabled at was also the first time that the VAS banner (designed by Gigi Howe of "Shorti Online") was used in helping to carry forth the "effort of education" in the battle against the sarcoma monster.

Coleen and I would like to extend our heartfelt appreciation to Sherry and her sister Jenny for proudly displaying our dear girl's poster on the front window of their restaurant "Fiddlestix", located in Largo Florida.  For numerous years, Coleen and I have called "Fiddlestix" our "home away from home" most every Saturday morning.
Sherry and Jenny not only serve the best breakfast and lunch in our area, but also make you feel like a part of their family.  Thanks Ladies!!

Rest assured that Sylvia's Mom and Dad continue to do all that we can towards spreading the "word" about VAS in our local community.  Tooling around in our well weathered 1989 Camry with Sylvia and Shorti's VAS bumper-sticker on the back is yet another of our family's continuing "avenues of education".

In loving tribute to her dear Angel girl Charlotte (pictured in the beautiful framed tribute above), Charlotte's Mom is continuing to pour her heart and soul towards helping to empower others concerning the facts relating to VAS.
Charlotte's Mom participated in a craft fair Maryland and used this wonderful opportunity to carry forth the public "effort of education" in the battle against this terrible disease.

Thanks to the heartfelt dedication of the "East County Animal Guardian Angels", a rescue shelter in Arizona, the lives of countless canine and feline children are blessed with much "quality" and "comfort".
Our family was honored to have our Angel girl's educational material included as part of a beautiful and informative display booth that the "East County Animal Guardian Angels" presented as part of a Pet Fair which took place in their local community.
