Acemannan Immunostimulant, a complex carbohydrate technology platform has received issuance of full license from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for a biologic drug for the treatment of fibrosarcoma in cats and dogs. The drug has been clinically shown to extend survivability when used as an adjunct to surgery in the treatment of canine and feline fibrosarcoma. The product triggers an increase in natural killer cell and cytotoxic T-cell activity, improves tumor margination for easier surgical removal, and does not have the typical side effects associated with chemotherapy.
