Waiting For Love
What foolishness overtook my mind
To think that you’d come
Waiting for an angel
That just flew overhead
But you never came
To cover my shame with your wings
Just a breath in the breeze
And a hopeful whisper upon a cloud
I looked for you for ages
Waiting hopefully and patience
With my hands in my lap
And my eyes gazing towards the heavens
Just to catch a glimpse of your ivory robe
To feel a soft light feather from your wings
Fall down and caress my cheek
You never came to save me
But, I’m still here
Waiting for you
To love me
On days it would Rain - 07/92
Was it the
steady
downfall
and rippled
reflection of pools
or the darkened shades
of concrete
and wood
outside
that tied
her to
that liquid heaven?
She appeared
uncomfortable
in her watery nimbus;
a bit too cold, perhaps,
she hovered in glory
as the rain
soaked through her dress
and bathed
her skin.
