We have a new baby in the family - "Baby" or "Rocky" depending if you are mom or dad. guess whatelse will be here soon (9/27/98) - another new baby - Gareth! We hope Baby isn't jealous of Gareth. Tuff, Rowdy, Scout & Traveler like to play with Baby and can't wait for Gareth to get here, they are going to sleep with him and protect him - they promised! He is going to be their boy!!
This is Tuff - he was our first little Yorkie boy. We got him on a trip to St. Augustine, FL, when I saw him I knew I had to have him. Jeff told me that I didn't need another dog - but I knew I did. When I woke up the next morning I said I was going to name him Tuff - after the rodeo rider! And we went back and got him. That was December 11, 1994. We brought him - 2.5 lbs - home and he has been the joy of our life ever since. He is our little KING of dogs! And believe me - he knows it. Tuff's place in the bed is at Jeff's head (Scout tries to get in there - but Tuff pushes him out!)
Here is our fat boy - Rowdy. He isn't really fat, he just has short legs & is stocky like a bull dog. We got him the Sat. after Thanksgiving 1995. He was 7 weeks old. He was coal black and his parents looked just like Tuff. Imagine our delight when he turned silver & ash. He is a beautiful color. His ears never did perk up - but we don't care. He loves to stare. He is our watch dog. He sleeps at the foot of the bed facing the door. He almost died last week, he got into something toxic - but the vet saved his life. We are so very grateful - you can't imagine. But when I was freaking out in the car alone - God spoke to me and said "Be still & know that I am God" and he sure was. Coz now you would never know that we took him in a coma that day to the vet. We never found out what it was. We searched the house and the yard. Please watch your pet - if they throw up bright yellow get them to the vet right away! By the way - Tuff & Rowdy weigh 7.5#s.
Scout will always be our little baby. He just turned 1 this past Oct 21, 1997. Jeff surprised me with him on Christmas Eve night, 1996. I was so happy. He was so tiny - not even 1½ #s. Now he weighs a whole 3#s. He has been a little trip though. One day when he was wet we think he bit an electric cord - coz he died. Thankfully Jeff & I were home and Jeff gave him mouth-to-snout and massaged his heart. In 2 hours he was fully back to normal. Then last time he went to the groomer we think she hurt him, coz that night we noticed that he walked funny - his hip was dislocated. They haven't been back to the groomer since, my friend comes to our home and does it. Scout is a little delight. He is the true lap dog. Where Rowdy hates to be held and Tuff will tolerate it, Scout lives for it. He squeaks if he thinks you will hurt him, he barks the loudest and thinks he is the biggest. They have little beds in the family room and Scout takes EVERYTHING there (we have found a missing role of pennies in there once) and the other dogs won't touch anything he puts in there. He sleeps right in the middle, between me and dad. He is a true little baby.
