For women survivors of Trauma - Domestic Violence or Abuse, Sexual Abuse or Assault, Family Suicide or Homicide, DUI, Incest or other Violence. It is a Bridge to Survival, taking the individual from a position of victim to a position of empowerment in three carefully planned stages.

 

Englewood: Tuesday 6:30 p.m. at San Casa office (Child Care provided)

Punta Gorda: Monday 6:30 p.m. Call for directions (941-627-6000) (Child Care Provided).

 

 Step I: Breaking Free

Designed to help the individual Break Free from the denial, silence, and violence of the relationship; recognize the effects on her self esteem, identify and acknowledge her own feelings, particularly of anger, begin to recognize the pattern and reduce her isolation.

 Step II: Bridge to Survival

6 weeks of educational based programs on the dynamics of domestic violence as it relates to each person's particular situation.
  The Wheel of Power and Control
  Red Flags of the Potential Batterer
  Effects on the Children
  Safety: Physical and Emotional
  Anger Management
  Relate the dynamics to own situation
 

 Step III: Survivors Group

Talk format group focusing on self-empowerment,identify own vulnerabilities and needs, develop safe, healthy ways of managing anger,and embrace healing and survivorship.
 

All C.A.R.E. services are FREE and CONFIDENTIAL

Individual counseling also available (call C.A.R.E for appointment).

Children's groups Monday nights at the Punta Gorda meeting.
