Full Name: Shades of Image (see: In Loving Memory) Nicknames & Phrases: Shady Lady, Big beautiful Shades Given B-day: April 1, 1993 Current Age: 14 Quirks: Plays fetch, cuddles with anyone who'll let her, paws at me around the shower curtain History: Well, as soon as I knew that there was a kitten who looked like Image, I had to have her! When I saw her, that clinched it! It took a few days to see her because her mother had hidden her in a neighbor's garage. We weren't sure exactly what day she was born but we knew it was in the first week of April. That's how she got that birthday. It was an easy date to remember. Believe it or not, she was a rather homely kitten but that only made me love her more! She was pretty jumpy and still is to this day. This lady growls at the door if she hears someone outside, whether they knock or not. Try to play with her when she isn't expecting it and she's instantly 4 feet in the air! Speaking of playing, Shades was the first of Bru's ladies to fetch . I was half sacked at the time and she kept bringing her favorite toy to me. It didn't occur to for a few minutes that fetching was what she was doing. She's since moved on to pom-pons. These she can carry around more easily and talk while she's at it. She also likes to chase my hand under the covers and through the shower curtain. When Shades plays, she completely loses her calm demeanor and goes nuts! The only other thing she goes wild over is claw-trimming day. She's not quite as much fun, then! :-) Shades is also the only member of the Bru clan that I have who isn't a terrorist (see: Dif-"fur"-nitions). She's a lady through & through! Other than her Bru-like build, everything about her is ladylike right down to her soft, breathy meow (unless she's talking around a mouthful of pom-pon! :-) ). Shades is a cuddlebug with both people and the other cats. In fact, it's rather interesting that her best cuddle-buddy is Image, for whom she's named! She'll get as close to him as possible, bathing him and often, you'll find the two if them twined together like lovers. They are the best of pals and they never scrap! That's a rarity, since there are so many cats, a conlict is bound to happen upon occasion, even between the best of buddies. I've never seen one between these two, though. Rarely does she ever get angry at any of the other cats, either. However, when she's provoked enough, she will defend herself. It's pretty impressive to watch Shades & Hazy Mist go at it! They were both the size of the average adult cat at the tender age of 8 months and they just kept on growing. When those two brawl, you can hear the blows! I guess that's only natural with sisters! lol Shades is also one of the most sociable members of the herd. I'll bet she was the first to greet you when you came to their page, right? Well, it's natural. She loves you whe- ther she knows you or not! I'm thoroughly impressed with my Shady Lady! She grew up to be one of the most loving, beautiful kitties I know! Don't forget to love on her before you leave or she'll be heartbroken!
