Outgoing navy chief Rear-Admiral Richard Lim will be taking up a new post in the Defence Ministry when he returns from his postgraduate studies in London next year.
The ministry yesterday announced that Rear-Admiral Lim is designated to assume the appointment of Deputy Secretary (Technology) in the middle of next year.
The announcement coincided with a parade held at Tuas
Naval Base to mark the change in command at the helm of the navy. Rear-Adm Lui Tuck Yew is
taking over.
Marching contingents and a sail-past of navy ships marked the occasion. A farewell dinner, held at the Shangri-La Hotel last night, was attended by the Chief of Defence Force, Lieutenant-General Bey Soo Khiang, and some 500 navy personnel.
