Poems added in Apr. - Jun., 2000

I have new poems and updated versions at http://poetryjoe.blogspot.com I opened the blog because everyone can't open this site due to traffic.
                            Crawl
                                      3/26/99
The hours without you crawl by
and every minute seems
sixty heartbeats wasted.
I never was a clock watcher
until we met, and now
I always wait to see you,
so eager to touch you!
Now the hours without you crawl by!
I turn on the TV, I listen to songs,
but nothing can ever make time less long.
I go out with friends, but I don't belong,
I try to bear up, but find I'm not strong!
And the hours without you crawl by:
I feel a hunger I can't satisfy!
Each day spent without you I end with a cry.
How long can it last before I die?
The hours without you crawl by!
O help me! Ease my pain,
stop these tears that are pouring like rain.
Come on, stop me! Slow my brain--
these streams of thoughts will drive me insane!

                      Dethrone
                                     12/14/99
You said you had to have it done today,
and have it done your way.
You wouldn't listen to a word I'd say:
it had to be your way or no way!
Why won't you ever listen to me,
open your eyes to what I see?
Does it hurt so terribly
to take a chance, to be free?
But then I saw your face--your vacant eyes
answered all my questions why!
It was just too much--
you wouldn't give,
even a little bit.
You don't know enough
to understand
even a little bit!
The boss man thinks he's king of cubicles
but somehow lost his way.
He's dropping more than his principles,
but he won't get away.
He hears the hounds snapping his heels,
although he still holds power,
and now he finds he can't cut deals
and he's afraid it's over. It's over.
And if you see his face, his vacant eyes
will tell you why!

               Dream
                             4/7/2000
When I dream of you
though we're far away
I feel one with you
both night and day.
I want, I love those dreams
of passionate scenes
but how can it be
till you're back with me?
I'll never be free
of our destiny
till you're back with me.

             Erosion
                          5/26/99
Time
washes through me like a river:
pieces
are slowly washed away.
Other
features have grown larger:
sand
that builds up in a stream.
Why
have I become an island,
watching
that water passing by?
Bridges
I built to reach others
somehow
stood the stress of time.
But I
still feel I am an island
watching
that water passing by.

              Every Day
                                1/20/99
Every day
the new creation
that's pumping life
into our lives
does not insure
times are not boring:
that is our choice
if we go slack.
There is a world
beyond the window
and there is wind
beyond the pane.
Come out and join
into the action:
don't stay encased
by glass embraced!
Come out, employ
all of your senses;
come out, enjoy
the kiss of life.
Why do you wait
and let your life drift
until it's late--
less time is left!
So do not sit
behind your window
and think about
the things you'll do.
It's time to go
across the threshhold
into the world
you want to know!

Every Time I Think of You
                                                     3/15/99
I don't know what it is you do,
but every time I think of you
I want to cherish, love you so,
want to stay with you.
You seem a queen,
you make me tremble
every time
you come near.
It's like a dream,
emotions scramble
every time
I love you, dear!
I don't know what it is you do,
but every time I think of you
I want to cherish, love you so,
want to stay with you.
Your eyes are dark,
your eyes are mystery,
I lose myself
inside them, dear!
I want to look
into your memory
and lose myself
inside you, dear!
I don't know what it is you do,
but every time I think of you
I want to cherish, love you so,
want to stay with you.
I beckon you
to come and walk with me,
whisper words
so sweet and dear.
I promise you
I'll share my destiny,
making yours
one with mine, dear!
I don't know what it is you do,
but every time I think of you
I want to cherish, love you so,
want to stay with you.

           Everywhere
                      12/10/99
When I look at other girls
I see how they look like you
or how they don't compare:
I see you everywhere.
Whether we are far apart
or close enough to touch,
your lips are at my fingertips:
you're with me everywhere.
And when I whisper, dear
I know that you are here,
I know that you will hear:
you're with me everywhere.
You never seem to leave my mind
and our touch spans space and time:
love that I had never dared
to hope that I would ever share.
I see your eyes; I kiss your lips
and I embrace your loving face
with trembling hands and fingertips.
I see you everywhere.
