Some people would let it hold them back and sour their outlook. Its obvious that you didn't. In th last 3 years I have had to watch 3 grandparents, my father and my great grandmother die. Might not be exactly the same as having an accident take my memories away... but in a way I feel like I've lost alot of my past. I became deaf at age 10, and I developed into a writer because I lived almost exclusively in my own mind all the time, shut off from sound. And I've travelled all over the fuck, and have gone through many amazing experiences, and I'm very observant and aware (I use my eyes a lot more than others do), so I've got a lot of material to write about. I am currently a student at California State University Los Angeles majoring in anthropology. I am also a member of the creative writing club on campus, so the discovery of great poem was a welcome surprise. I especially liked the dreams of darkness- no cliches, no bull. Very honest work. Anybody who can write a line like "have you earned...enough to buy our mortgaged son?" gets my vote. If you're interested, our club is designing a web page at present.
