WORK PRINTS

So Chim, what the hell is a workprint anyway?
Well, I'll tell ya. When filmakers are making movies, there are often several working copies made before they finally get to the final cut. These are workprints. They are usually really crappy quality, bad lighting exposure and multi-generational and have time-coding counters on the screen .
So why then would anyone want a poor quality copy of a movie they can just go out and buy or rent?
A lot of people like them because they can often obtain copies of them before the movie actually comes out on video or DVD, or sometimes even in the theaters, much in the same way people get screener copies. Chim does NOT list any of his workprints (or screener copies, if indeed he had screener copies) until it is released. This would be unfair to the film-makers who want to make money from their films. Especially the Hollywood films because who would ever rent one one (like Jeepers Creepers) if they know what a piece of shit it was by seeing a screener or workprint.
What Chim likes about workprints is that they often have scenes cut from the final print. Many of the scenes are cut for time or for a MPAA rating or for whatever reason, and it's cool to see some of the film makers original vision. Other workprints even have alternate endings which are cool to see, as in the case of RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD.
These are the workprints I have:
-APOCALYPSE NOW (5 hour work print)
-PHANTASM III (uncut, with gore and violence cut for an rating still intact)
-CREEPSHOW (10 minutes longer)
-LEATHERFACE: Texas Chainsaw 3 (MPAA rated X, alternate ending)
-BRIDE OF REANIMATOR (additional beginning scenes that pick up right where Re-Animator left off)
-FROM DUSK TILL DAWN (awesome alternate working soundtrack)
-RETURN OF THE LIVING DEAD (original alternate ending)
I'll take any WORKPRINTS ya got for trade, particularly any with additional scenes or alternate endings....
Any questions??? Wanna trade??? Just ask!!!!
