The mission statement of this Website has always been:
"To help people see the movies they want to see!"
The reason for this is because when you are watching what you want to watch, you are not watching what THEY want you to watch, and rather than being programmed by THEM you are defining yourself by YOUR choice in art...
THEY, however, would rather you not watch art, but rather watch the big shiny comercials they call movies. Not that every so often, they don't make a cool movie, but to THEM, it doesn't matter whether the movie was cool or not, but whether you buy the promotional toys at the fast food place...and for this reason, if you want one of THEIR movies, just look anywhere..there are 50 copies on the shelf at the video store, you can't miss 'em. But sometimes there are movies that you want which just don't sell toys and merchandise and THEY feel it's not going to make THEM enough money to make them availible. In fact, they might think that it might distract from THEIR shiny movies or else you might just find out where THEY get their ideas from...These movies, my friends, the Out-Of-Print, the not for sale, are the ones that Video Trading is for!!!
These days however, thanks to the Internet and increased awareness (and, I like to think, to Pages like mine), just about everything is being re-released on DVD. Some of the most obscure flicks are now availible and this I think has contributed to a decrease in the amount of video trading going on; at least in my case, where I once traded a dozen movies a month, I rarely ever trade now. Trading for me is a last resort...
I've been trading Videos online for some time now, and I've learned a few things.
First off, there is one big misconception about Video Trading. Most new Traders think something like this, "Wow, am I ever gonna save a lot of money trading a copy of one of my videos for a copy of someone elses!!!"
This however should NOT be the reason for trading!
By the time you factor in the cost of a QUALITY blank tape with the cost of shipping, plus the time you have to invest (well actually I kinda like watching the movies as I tape them, that is until I saw 'MERMAID in the MANHOLE' seven times in three days), plus about 1 in 10 of your shipments will be lost or stolen in the mail and maybe (it's happened to me a couple times)that Trader you are trading with is just out to scam you; add to that and the fact that the tape you get IS a dub and so it will lose quality from a factory original and the fact that you have to wait for it (and believe you me, some Traders are real tardy).
Is that really worth all the effort to get a tape you could get previously viewed for cheap at the local video store and watch that night!?!?
Trading is for movies which can't be normally gotten by other means. Uncut versions not edited by local censors, out of print videos, foriegn versions, or movies you just can't get in your neck of the woods and don't have a credit card to get them online, etc, things like that are the stuff of trades. NOT Hollywood movies (besides they have the legal might to prosecute you if you step over the line (and those money hungry corporate weasels will do it too). Film-makers make movies and hope to make money so they can make more movies, so let's help 'em out (especially the Indie-filmakers). If you can buy 'em from the source, do it, you might pay an extra couple bucks, but not only do you get the box and art but a factory quality picture...To help facilitate this, I've taken the time and effort to find low priced places to buy any flicks on my lists that I could. If you see a movie on my list that you wanted to trade for and it has a BUY IT button next to it, consider clicking that button and buying it.
And NEVER sell anything that you know to be copyrighted (or anything you are not sure of either, in fact it's best not to sell at all)... if you make a profit, you are BREAKING THE LAW and putting your whole video collection and a lot more at risk!!!
MY RULES FOR TRADING!!!!
***THE BIG RULE***
I'm sick of being ripped off by Assholes who take my tapes and don't send theirs and are never heard from again despite constant hounding, so from now on, YOU SEND YOUR TAPES TO ME FIRST. Then the day (yes that very day, integrity is my motto) they arrive, yours are in the mail to you. THERE WILL BE NO EXCEPTIONS TO THIS, except with those excellent trustworthy traders I've dealt with over the years (and you probably know who you are).
Other rules:
1) If you wanna ship surface to save money, ok, lemme know and I'll ship surface too
2) I like lots of email (when you are ready to mail, when you mailed, when you get it, how you like 'em, etc)
3) NIGHT STALKER Episodes and GUINEA PIG Episodes are less than 60 minutes long so I will put two of them on a tape and count it as one movie if you wish...
4) I'll trade any two dupes for an original copy or any 3 dupes for a DVD...even if it's not something obscure or cult... ... hell I even traded Porno Holocaust and sumthin else for the Blair Witch Project when it first came out on video
5) I can do any movie on VCD also, and will trade VCDs for VCDs and may consider VCDs for VHS tapes but ask first. It takes a while to make a VCD from a VHS tape, but if I all ready have it converted to VCD it only takes a few minutes to make a copy. This is what will determine my decision, this and how much time I have availible if I don't have a VCD made all ready.

7) I'm open to any offers as long as they don't involve 'cash for dupes'. If you have something really special and feel it's worth something extra, make an offer, and if you have stuff to sell (particularly DVDs) by all means let me know...

My Quality Rating System!!
Still, feel free to email me if you have any questions anyway as these ratings are only a guideline. I might have given a movie a lower quality because maybe only a part of it is bad. These are the ratings for my videos, your copy may lose some quality in the copying but I endever to make the best copies possible (i.e my heads are always clean, and my tracking is set).
Movies are graded as follows:
A - excellent quality, from a factory original or equivalent
B - good quality, typical dub... less than 3rd generation
C - below average, has a glitch or two, mutli-generational, or taken from an originally bad print
D - poor quality, watchable but has a combination of the above mentioned in C
E - REALLY BAD, watchable but just barely, only listed cause it was so rare or hard to come by I thought you might take an interest
