All right, so what I should do is put up a poll and let you the Page Visitor pick what movies I should do reviews on. I'm really scratching my head sometimes to do a review. Just like with THE WORST OF THE WORST, I have this list of videos I'd like to review but no pics or graphics to go with them. For example, I'd love to do a review on a video called:

JUNK

It is by far the best Japanese ZOMBIE movie ever! I mean this flick is way super-cool. It combines elements of Tarentino flicks like 'Resivior Dogs' or 'Dusk til Dawn' with elements of superior Zombie flicks like 'Dawn of the Dead'. And it works too! I'd dare any of my friend's to give this the pepsi challenge with any Hollywood action flick (except most of my friends can't read subtitles)... The gore and Zombies are right up there with 'Day of the Dead' and the characters and story are great, including awesome action and gunplay and just the right amount of humor.

The story concerns a group of small time criminals who pull the big heist at a jewelry store. The plan goes off successfully despite a few hitchs which gets one of them injured. They call the crime-boss to fence the stolen goods. He agrees to meet them at an old factory complex for the exchange. Unknown to both, this factory was used by the military for bio-research and, of course, has a Zombie problem, which their presence quickly escalates. Highlights include an ass-kicking female superzombie, and I have to tell you, she doesn't go down easy.

This one definately gets CHIM CHIM the VideoMonkey's tail up. If you are looking for it, cause there are so many movies named junk, the Japanese title is "Shiryour Gari" and it was released in 1999. If you can find it, check it out.

But since I can find no gaphics or pics for JUNK, except the above lousy cover-scan I found at the last moment. I'll have to review something else here. So in keeping with the Asian/Zombie theme, our MOVIE OF THE WEEK is:

BIO ZOMBIE

In my humble opinion, the Asian Movie Industry makes exemplary gore/sex/horror flicks, but they also make great comedies. And this flick is a combination of the two. It's a rather light hearted zombie flick along the lines of 'Return of the Living Dead'; only as perhaps an ode to the classic 'Dawn of the Dead', it takes place in a shopping mall.

It starts out rather like any comedy, with our two main characters, being Woody Invincible and Crazy Bee, working in a mall video store, goofing off, flirting with girls and pissing off the security guard. Time is spent introducing the characters before the horror/zombie elements are introduced to the story, which may make the first part of the movie slow moving to the Zombie Gore fans, but, trust me, once the Zombies make the scene it picks right up. The zombies come from your typical bio-chemical virus unwitting loosed upon the world type thing and the zombie effects do look pretty good. Once this one gets going, it is more 'Resident Evil' than even 'Resident Evil' was. Seriously, I guess it's supposed to be humorous (i thought it was), but these icons appear on the screen like in a video game saying things like 'reload'.

Maybe this is no blood-bath like say a Fulci flick, but it does have gore. And maybe you don't find Asian slapstick as funny as I do (hell I think Chris Rock, or is that Chris Tucker, is the most unfunny person I've ever seen, but others seem to find him hilarious), but it's funnier than a episode of friends. So , if you are an Asian film fan or are looking for something in the tradition of 'Return of the Living Dead' this one is worth a check.
