As most of you know, CHIM CHIM the VIDEOMONKEY is the champion of Independant Filmakers everywhere. If you have a cool Indie Flick and a website, he'll link to it and when he sees a cool Indie flick, he'll toss a plug to where to buy it.

And as many of you don't know, unless you know the VIDEOMONKEY personally, much of his time spent out from in front of screens is spent with his nose in a book. And right up there, with Poe and Bourroughs, is CHIM's favourite writer H.P. LOVECRAFT

So what does any of this have to do with anything, you might ask?

We'll if you are anything like me, and you find two things that you think are cool, you'll try to combine them into one supercool thing. Like if you like PIZZA and you like CHEESEBURGERS, you'll get yourself a Bacon Double Cheesburger Pizza from pizza hut, or if you like sex and you like leather straps....well you get the picture.

Anyway, how does one combine a love for VIDEOS and a love for H.P. LOVECRAFT?? Well just click here(after you are done this review that is):

So what does this have to do with the MOVIE OF THE WEEK???

Well this is where I got this weeks MOVIES of the WEEK. And yes, I did say MOVIES, pural, cause they have a few cool movies there and I just couldn't pick just one.

So what do they have?

Well the one that got me started was:

This is a collection of Amateur Films from the 96-98 LOVECRAFT FILM FESTIVALS. And not only that it has two, yes TWO, videos done by THE DARKEST OF THE HILLSIDE THICKETS, the coolest LOVECRAFT band (or almost any band) out there.

After thouroughly enjoying the hell out of that video. I decided to get:

And I was not disappointed with Volume II. Well maybe I was a little disappointed that there were no THICKETS videos (but I got the STARSHIP ZERO soundtrack and it had a Quicktime version of the WALKING ON THE MOON video, so I was able to survive). This video anthology comes from the 1999-2000 Festivals and has some animated type films too which were super cool.

And while I was ordering that last one, I decided I'd save a little postage and pick up a second feature. So I ordered:

Now this one, rather than an anthology, is just one story. A student stumbles upon the secret of the small fishing town Innsmouth. And sure enough, being kin, they want to make him feel welcome. Pretty damned cool if you ask me, and I understand Toren from the THICKETS played a deep one.

They still have some more stuff that I haven't ordered yet, but stay tuned, for sooner or later I surely shall.
And talk about cheap? Their videos are only a mere $15 (or less), is that entertainment value or what???

Now if I could only find some cool people to play CALL OF CTHUHLU with, my life would be complete.....
