I see your shadow lurking in the corner.
As I try to sleep.
Your eyes glisten in the moonlight.
I try to turn over,
And I hear you growl.
My knees ache,
My head hurts,
I take a pain pill,
And see you lay down to rest,
We can both rest,
For now.
Morning comes,
I hurt.
Even before I open my eyes,
I know you are there,
Standing over me.
Our eyes meet;
"Calm down my ever present shadow,
Let me help us both."
My fingers feel like they are on fire,
As I open each magical bottle of pills.
You sit there salivating.
Soon...
14, 15, 16 pills gone,
Now we wait,
Together...me for relief.
You...for solace.
The day takes it's usual form.
I try to accomplish life,
Nothing special...
A sink full of dishes,
Maybe a pile of laundry,
But always you remind me you are watching,
Lurking in the shadows.
What do I call you?
My friend...for you are always with me?
My enemy...for you will never let me go?
For now you reside in the shadows,
Lupus...
A Wolfe that resides with me.
A Wolfe in the Shadows.
