Wish

I have sometimes stopped to wonder,
Just what I would do,
If I could make a wish,
And it would just once come true.

I'd wish that just once,
I wouldn't have to tell you how I feel,
That you could just feel my heart,
And know all the emotions to be real.

I'd want to be with you alone,
In some place of starlit beauty,
Or on some beach I've never been to,
Watching the sun sink into the sea.

I wish we sat upon a grassy hill,
On a perfectly clear night far from anyone,
And the fantastic sky would make us feel small,
So we'd hold each other until the sun comes.

If I could make a wish,
And it would just once come true,
I wouldn't need to make that wish,
For I would only wish for you.
