You're somewhere, I'm somewhere else,
Just connected by our hearts and a phone,
But before you put that receiver down,
There's one more thing before I am all alone.
What happens to you, what happens to me,
Who knows what the future brings?
I might not get a chance to say,
To tell you so many things.
Perhaps, never another walk together,
Nor an evening out to eat,
We might never see another film,
Nor even simply meet.
I could make speeches,
Of what I would say to you tonight,
Books and books of poetry,
To say what just a few words might.
That though I die before I see you,
And my life were short, lived in vain,
Because you were in my life,
I should relive it just the same.
And if you changed your mind,
Said goodbye to me forever,
Still, I would say it was worth it,
For the time we had together.
Though the world should end tonight,
And we all fade into the dust,
It could have known no greater beauty,
Than that which we called us.
Basically what I'm trying to say,
Before you put down that phone.....
Is that I love you.
