One Eye Crying

Tell me,
Have you ever heard a soul screaming?
When it is ripped in two,
And old joy is but dreaming?

We two were once one,
Forever, we were to be permanently melded,
But anger slipped in,
Perceived our love,
And, as with an axe, felled it.

Bleeding from head to toe,
I am but one leg,
One arm,
Half a nose,
And one eye crying.

Now I am half a man,
In blindness of foolish anger,
I have been amputated.
How could I not see the danger?

How are you now?
Ever my better half,
Does your soul yet long for peace?
Or can you still laugh?

And yet one eye is still crying,
From it's tears there is no peace,
A half-soul ever dying,
When I see you far from me.

Bleeding from head to toe,
I am but one leg,
One arm,
Half a nose,
And one eye crying.

When other arms do hold you,
My death will be complete,
My soul burning in agony,
Half-lips yet smile in deceit.
