As I drive down this road, I've
travelled
so many times before
The rain pours down the windows, like
the tears
rolling down my face
I watch as the wipers try, diligently
to clear the rain
from the windshield
Just as my hands try to clear
the tears
from my cheeks
Determined to blur my vision, the rain
keeps coming down
As do the tears, flowing from my eyes
I try to
concentrate on the road
I try to forget
the pain
But like the
rain and the tears, the pain
has control tonight
I arrive at my
destination,
Sit there awhile with my thoughts
And I wonder, how I ever got here
Wiping the tears
from my face, I
glance in the mirror
Foolish, foolish girl
I gather my thoughts,
regain my composure, realize my strength
Looking at the house,
I think
of
the wonderful people inside
It makes me smile as I wipe one last
tear
from my cheek
As I leave my car, I no longer notice the rain
I walk up to the door
take a deep breath
and step inside
I am
greeted with hello's and hugs, and I wonder
what had made me sad
I hold my loved ones tight, as a single tear
rolls down my cheek
And I realize, this is where my heart belongs
I have found my way home
