A sweet HamSupLo: an oxymoron if ever there is one. However, do not be misled by his nick "HamSupLo" (Hammy for short), which means lecher in Cantonese (if you still do not know by now). In fact, I've never met a sweeter or more gentlemanly guy! (not that I've met many men mind you hehe...) He always insists on treating the ladies, and poor Hammy didn't know what to do when I paid for my own lunch when he was in S'pore in Feb'97!Hey relax Hammy,it was a food court, so what do you expect me to do!? Haha!
He is going to kill me for exposing the fact that he is a romantic, sweet and sensitive man deep down, and ruining the "hamsup" image he has taken such care to maintain; but there is no way I can keep this secret!!! Do you know the he flew to S'pore in Feb just to surprise a dear friend on her birthday?! He sent her, anonymously, a huge bouquet of flowers at her office, with a note asking her to meet this "secret admirer" at the lobby, after work (how considerate!) Surprised,er...scared her he did, as she turned up with TWO male colleagues as escorts!!! *LOL* Oh my, if a guy does this to me, my heart will melt! Don't you think it's very romantic!? *swoon*
Ron is from Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. He is a consultant in electronic banking system, and has recently decided to expand his business by opening a branch in Southeast Asia. Of course, he needs not be told that S'pore is THE place to set up his office! Hehe...looking forward to meeting him more often in future! However, cost in S'pore is really too high, so he finally settled on another lovely city,Bangkok. Will definitely come visit you then Ron; don't say I didn't WARN you! Hehe
We actually became better friends after we met each other in Feb'97. Had such a wonderful time together with Ginny and Hazel. There was nevera dull moment when I was in their company! The way we joke and fool around is simply outrageous, but sooooo FUN! Heheh! Ron (his real name) is really nice to talk to; we can talk about anything under the sun, be it politics or sex or religion or simply nonsense! Many times he was there to offer advice anda listening ear, especially when I was in such turmoil in Jun, about going to uni. His concern is real touching, and I wish to say,Ron,I really appreciate all that you've done! Thanks a million! At times, he's even acted as my "Uncle Agony" too! *LOL*
His wit and humour make him one of the most popular guy in #asian; he always has a quick come-back, no matter how hard I try to say something incredibly outrageous to shock him. *Sigh, what can I say? He is a master of repartee hehe... *Therefore do not simply think this is "the soul of an 8-year-old trapped in a 38-year-old man's body" *LOL* He is cute and fun-loving, yet there IS a serious and really sweet side to him, if you look deep enough :)
If you really want to know,I am "bethrothed" to his older sonChristopher; but after seeing my future bro-in-law, Robert's picture, I wonder if Hammy is willing to let me exchange! Christopher is very handsome, mind you, but little Robert is the exact replica of Hammy! So chubby and cute! *Sigh, what a dilemma for a poor simple girl like me...:P
Well,if you are aspiring to be a heart-breaker and wish to learn some'ham sup' techniques from a world-class HamSupLo, sign up for a short course at HamSupLo's Lair! Money-back guarantee too! *LOL*
Once Hammy was sweet enough to bring me some women's magazines that are exclusive to Aussie women and it was really an eye-opener! I feel real bad when he said he could have been mistaken for a gay, since it is 'practically unheard of or unseen for a man to read female mags, let alone BUY them!' *LOL* I'm real grateful Ron!Thanks!
The three of us, Ron ,Ginny and I,had a great time especially at the chinese teahouse, where we tried ourselves to brew chinese tea the traditional way. Sure made us feel cultured! Haha! Through him, I also met Rayne, Finn and Panda for the first time. Had a great time chatting and eating satay and other local goodies. *Yummy!* Finn is real amusing, playing with food hehe...
Well, all in all it was real nice to have Ron here and I hope he is not turned off by our constant bugging. He was here for business, yet he still had to put up with our demands to meet him. Poor guy was clearly exhausted and he has to fly around the region all the time.
