I am born in 1978,so that makes me a horse! *neigh!*
Incidentally, that makes me an "earth" horse. The Chinese Zodiac
consists of 12 animals, starting with the Rat, Ox, Tiger, Dragon,
Rabbit, Snake, Horse, Goat, Monkey, Roaster, Dog, & Pig. This moves in
a cycle, and each year usually is associated with certain qualities.
For example, tradition Chinese do not like the year of Tiger and
will do everything to avoiding getting married or having babies
in that year.As for the most popular year, that has to be the Dragon.I remember in the previous year of Dragon, there were so
many babies born that when the babies were 7 years old, the
government had to build more schools just to accomodate them!
The next thing to note will be the elements like "earth","fire"
and "water" for example. This further distinguishes each person
from the others born in same "animal" years.
To find out more about your own zodiac animal, visit this ChineseAstrology site;detailed description of each "animal's" characteristics, as well as how compatible you are with a person of other zodiac!First of all, check what animal and element you are .
Being born on April 25 it makes me a Taurus! I know you'll jump straight into the conclusion that I'm bull-headed, boring, dull stick-in-the-mud, stubborn, etc...all the so-called "typical" qualities associated with each star sign. Again, I'd say it is not good to stereotype people. Take me for example. I do not find myself particularly stubborn or am bull-tempered. I like to think of myself as a white circle. Circle looks like me,so chubby :) and white represents serenity. I like to think of myself being calm and not easily upset and you can turn a circle anyway you want yet I'll remain the same. However,I'm only flexible to a certain extent; a circle is still a circle, you cannot force it into a square or triangle. This metaphor might be a bit lame, yet it's the best I can find! Hehe... I admit I do have a very "typical" Taurean characteristic: possessiveness! I'm like a mother lion when it comes to protecting what is "my own". Perhaps it is this self-knowledge that makes me appear more open-minded and detached than I really am.
I've found a really good site for you to know more about yourself. Not only does it take into account of your birthdate, your birth time and place are recorded and taken into account when they do an analysis for you. I myself find the results accurate to quite a large extent; some things are so accurate I felt uneasy! Give Astro Advice a try! A word of advice though; registering can be a pain in the butt! Those of you who are born in S'pore, choose country of birth as Malaysia! The silly people consider S'pore a city of Malaysia! Alamak...
Well, it could be my being born in the year of horse that makes me love these creatures so much. I appreciate the elegance and agility of horses; the grace of their movement, seeing the muscles rippling powerfully as they trot of race simply mesmerises me. Unfortunate, it is not easy to ride a horse in S'pore. You have to be really rich to own a membership in the horse-riding club and then pay exhorbitant fees for the lessons. Too bad :(
However, I'm lucky enough to have a great pal, Suchi, who is lucky enough to have riding lessons right in S'pore! Both of us share a great love for horses, and through her, I can vicariously enjoy her riding lessons too! Her horses are her babies;now that she is in London, the UK, pursuing her Economics degree in LSE, she misses them terribly. I enjoyed listening to her anecdotes about riding lessons, like once while she was feeding a horse, it bit her! Haha! Talk about "biting the hand that feeds you" hehe... *Wink*
I'm sure by looking at my Love Shrine and the theme (ie the backgrounds etc.) you should know by now that I love all things nostalgic. Perhaps I've read too many romances set in the good old days, be it Victorian, Restoration, Elizabethan and even Medieval English or Scottish settings! Sometimes I feel I've been born a century or two too late...hmm time travel is worth considering *wink* Ironically, I do not really like time-travel novels, since I am too narrow-minded to accept this and usually the endings in the books are too far-fetched for my sceptical mind to be credible. You'll find out more of my reading preferances in my Romantic Novels section.Though it was torturous to wear corsets and not eat because of this, I find that the glamour of the good old days so interesting! There was always the "season" when everyone of importance in society went to balls, operas or theatres or even retire to the country estates to "commune with nature". But then again, my modern (feministic?) mind cannot bear with having nothing more important to think of other than which dress to wear for the next social gathering. The total submissiveness and lack of rights will kill me, I think! Victoriana and Past Times are the sites I've found so far dedicated to nostalgia. More links soon, I hope!
