City: Astral Plane
State: Still dead, but doing somewhat better
Comments:
Zappo, stands there speechless, absorbing this new information. "Greaaaat, what am I supposed to do now?," Zappo finally says, not sharing The Nameless One's humorous attitude. Looking around again, Zappo not seeing anything terribly exciting, shrugs his shoulders and begins to walk, er, float off in no particular direction. Pausing once again, Zappo turns around to add, "unless you have any better ideas, I'm just going to float around until I start to make sense of things..."

Name: The Nameless One
Comments:
The Nameless One smirks at Zappo's astral ineptitude. Somehow, he knows how to function here, as though he's been here before. It's an odd feeling of Deja Vu. He replies to Zappo's question rather bluntly. "Your dead. Sucks, huh?" He smirks again.

Name: Zappo
City: Astral Plane
State: Kinda dead...
Comments:
Zappo, not completely realizing his predicament yet, glares suspiciously at his surroundings. His eyes (or their astral equivalent) suddenly widen as his gaze settles upon the Nameless One. Before a thought can even cross his mind, Zappo lunges at hi adversary, attempting to tackle him. Much to his chagrin, he passes right through the form, falling on, well, nothing and quietly floats to a stop. Finally realizing that something is just not right, Zappo addresses his translucent companion, "What the hell is going on here?"

Name: One of the scouting dragonriders...the one hunting Radscorpions...Comments:
He rides the youngest and smallest dragon of the ones who serve the Paladins--a brash but subdued little sapphire...the dragon is the first to notice the black dragons on the horizon, and he nearly trips over his own tongue to make their appearance kno n to his rider...they both decide the best course would be to retreat, and they dive to the deck, hugging the terrain and racing back to Lightfall, with a really good head start...

Name: The Dragonrider...
Comments:
Gets a bit miffed at getting still no response, and walks down out of Poca's room into the main hall, where he runs into Johan and Loranar (who Gungadin's probably going to have to fill in later...) The by-now mundane notes pass hands, and the dragonrider shakes his head, as though struck by a particularly disturbing thought. The three of them then decide to stay in the Great Hall and make it clear to one of the servants that someone with MILITARY authority at Gaultheria should be summoned forthwith, a well as either Gungadin, Alex, or both... He then catches sight of the Lady Poca and Kenshiro walking back to the Lady's room...he steps before them, and bows deeply to Poca. My lady, forgive my intrusion, but it's so very good to actually set ey s on you at last. You're the spitting image of what I pictured...and we must speak of the reasons Johan and now I are here. Do you have some time? His demeanor says two things: one, that he's not really making this a REQUEST, and two, he's unaware hat his body language is making statement one. =)

Name: Lord Philo
Comments:
"OPEN THE GATES!" Philo shouts. Soon, two huge iron gates are flung open. The thunder of monsterous footsteps shake the ground as Ryath is released from her pen. A humongous beast of nearly 25 feet of length emerges, its claws digging 6 inches i to the ground with each step. The beast clears the pen, towering over the nearby guards, who scatter and run with fear. Ryath's eyes, the size of a human's head, nearly double at the sight, and it lunges out at the nearest guard, sinking its mighty claw into its back. "RYATH! YIELD!" Philo shouts. The creature flings the mangled guard's body and rushes toward Philo, who stands perfectly still, the look of supreme confidence in his eyes. Ryath stops a few feet shy of her master, lets out an e r-piercing shreik, and obediently bows her head to him, allowing his to climb onto her back. Philo quickly mounts the beast. "GYHAA! RYATH, GYHAA!" Philo shouts as his mount spreads its wings and takes off into the air. Later, six others follo , each carrying a trio of riders. The entire mass of the last of the enslaved black dragons, contorted and controlled beyond possibility, fly their way to the Worldspine mountains, seven in all. Their mission: to aquire the mighty Deristative Repower...

"Yeah," says Gabriel,"I remember all of the things you mentioned, Gungadin . . . are you saying that you know why we have these feelings? I was just treating like those weird dreams people have where they see the future, but don't realize it until after it happens. What are these prisms made of . . ."

Name: Gungadin
Comments:
"Arina, you only know the half of it..." he mutters as he walks into the garden. Gungadin looks around as though defeated and takes a mental head count. "Are we all here? Hmm... Well, everyone, it appears that the Lady is in worse health th n we all feared. If what I hear from Alex is true, it couldn't have happened at a worse time..." Gungadin stops and chuckles a mad laugh. "Dear me... time. Of course! How ironic..." Gungadin laughs again, and the rest begin to look concerned He calms himself. "Listen, I don't know what to explain... or how to explain it... Uh... Scheisse... How many of you have heard of the fables of the mystical source of power lying below Gaultheria; the central prism?" A few of them nod their eads, while others bear expressions of confusion. Gungadin rubs his temples. "Okay, listen. That prism below the castle apparently harbors more power than we ever thought possible. I mean, the legends don't do it justice. What I'm talking about.. well..." Gungadin stares straight up at the sky, crosses his arms in front of his chest and bites his lip. "Okay, here's the deal. What I'm going to tell you now is NOT to leave this garden, understand? You will tell NOBODY! This is for not on y your own safety, but for everyone alive... and even more so... even those who are no longer, and those who have yet to be... I really don't know where to begin..." Gungadin takes a deep breath. "How many of you have been experiencing flashbacks recently? I mean, remember when Alex said he recognised Lady Poca, although they had never met? And has anyone else been getting the mental pictures of armies marching, magic clashing, and feats of great magnitude? I mean, don't you all have a great se se of Deja Vu..?"

Comments:
Nein's eyebrows disappear into her hairline- first at Gungadin's response, and then at the sight of the winged Alex chasing Gungadin through the castle. Nein decides to follow suit..

The Nameless One's astral aura walks over to Zappo's and gives it the astral equivilent of a playful kick in the ribs. "Hey! You still alive? Er... Wait... Bad choice of words."

Name: Arina
Comments:
Takes a deep breath as Loranar hands her a message, and watches him run off after Johan. She reads it, and turns to Lisa. The reason, little one, that they're all worked up is that a relatively large and hostile group of soldiers defeated, humili ted, and very likely killed almost an entire platoon of rangers up in the Wastes--only two have made it back so far. What's a bit worse is that these troops are probably within five days march of right here--and it's been two days since the battle took p ace, more or less--hence the hyperactivity on the parts of the military types.

01/23/98 02:17:25
Name: Johan
Comments:
Looks marginally surprised when Loranar catches up to him waving a scrap of paper...this lasts right until he's read both the messages. His visage turns rather frightening in that second, before he maintains a modicum of control. Okay. Lisa, I'm going to need to see your aunt right away, could you excuse me? Then I'll have to talk to Gungadin. He strides off rapidly, and agitatedly...

Name: Alex
State: Hybrid
Country: Strikehaven
Comments:
Alex chases after Gungadin yelling, "Damn it, Gungadin! You know me better than that. You know that I know that there is always a grain of truth to every simple child's tale. Now tell me what you know! I have asked you to do so in the past, and you generally seem to comply, what is so special about this instance that would change things? We can speak of this in private if you wish, what ever the case is, I need to know! If I can't get a straight answer from you, I'll get one from Lady Poca!"

Name: Gungadin
Comments:
Gungadin stands up and looks at Nein nervously. "What's... ah... going on? Why... ah... nothing! Nothing's going... ah... on... uh... why? What makes you think that something's... ah... going on? Huh? No, nothing. Uh... excuse me, but I'm in a hurry... I'm... ah... I left Malcontent double-parked again..." Gungadin stammers as he again bolts off down the hall...

Name: Nein
State: Clean
Comments:
Nein lounges in the bathtub, humming a Beethoven sonata, when she suddenly stops due to the commotion coming from outside the bathroom. She quickly gets out, dresses (thank goodness), and runs toward the source of the ruckus. On her way, she runs into ( iterally) Gungadin. As she helps him up, she exclaims, "What's going on?!"

Name: Lord Philo
Comments:
"Lord Philo, the 13th outer patrol has returned from the Worldspine. They've gotten into a scuffle, sir, and the captain has the spoils with him. Lord Philo looks up from his desk. Thick dark circles lay under his eyes. "Send him in immedia ely." The guard nods and backs out. Moments later, the captain of the patrol enters the room. He quickly bows before Philo. "Rise. What news of the East?" The captain stands up. "Sir, we were on standard patrol in the area that you se t us to, and I think we've identified the man you were looking for." Philo's eyes widen. The captain continues. "He was a tricky bastard, too. He got away. He was being helped by Radscorpions! They took out quite a few of my men..." Philo s eyes narrow. "Radscorpions? That doesn't sound right. How many of you remain?" The captain lowered his eyes. "47, sir." Philo's jaw drops. "I sent you out there with a full company! 100 men!" "Aye, sir, but we had a nasty run- n with a hillsman tribe, as well as some Morrowind Rangers. They attacked us while we fought the Rads, sir. Must have been 60 rangers, and at least 25 scorpions!" Philo sinks into his seat, shaking his head. 25 full-grown Radscorpions would have ki led the entire company by themselves. The man was deeply exaggerating. "What of the sword I sent you after? You at least got the sword, did you not?" The captain's face split into a grin. "Yes, sir! Right here, in fact!" he said, lift ng up Zappo's ornate broadsword. Philo's eyes burned. "Blast it! That's not it! I need the other!" He shouted. Philo stormed back toward the window. "Leave it here, and tell the guard out front to prepare Ryath. I'm going to ride to the Worldspine myself, if I have to!"

Name: Kenshiro

Comments:
The monk looks at the Lady's pale visage, briefly takes her pulse, and shakes his head slightly. "Whatever the problems are, they will wait, or Lucien can deal with them. You must rest, Lady." He ponders for a moment, then turns to Lucien. "I can see the Lady safely to her chambers - perhaps you should deal with whatever new commotion has flown in. I have a feeling it may have something to do with the Lady's premonition of danger to Gaultheria. I will be with her in her chambers, and this time, she will not leave without giving word to you or your men." He nods briefly to Lucien and continues assisting Poca to her bedroom.
