SEVILLE EXPO'92 VISION Barqueta Bridge This bridge was designed entirely with steel. It is approximately 185 yards long with no intermediate supports, with a total width roadbed of approximately 23 yards. The Barqueta Bridge is innovative in design, with its central arch soaring over the completely obstacle-free roadbed. The arch, instead of resting on the center or the edges of the roadbed, is supported on two triangular frames, adding a three-dimensional aspect to the bridge. In the distant background resembling a ship with a blue smoke stack is the pavilion of Andalusia, Spain. © 1992 Raul
