Fontaine's Story

Clair's Story

Clair de Lune, curator of the Confederate Gallery, is known for her straight shooting and has been awarded a Library of Congress number. She asks you to remember that wherever we are, we stand beneath the same stars, the same moon, the same sky.

Miss Clair lives alone in an urban location. Her second floor flat has twenty-seven windows that afford her an ample view of the surrounding area and a fine point of surveillance in case of danger. Her three feline companions, Colette, Nico and Mishima, serve as generals in her army and take turns at their posts in the twenty-seven windows. They prefer the ones that open so they can get some fresh air.

Soon they will be able to venture out on the large verandah, as the two holly trees (which they might have attempted to climb down) have now been removed. This decision was made when cute but vicious raccoons began to visit the verandah and dig up all the plants, including the precious peony rescued from Aunt Mary Elizabeth's garden before they hauled her off to that "home" downtown.

Visit again soon to learn more about Clair de Lune, Colette, Nico and Mishima.
