 North Carolina: Piedmont  I (Smoked Pork)

1 1/2 c  Cider vinegar                     1/2 ts Cayenne
   10 tb Ketchup                             1 pn Red pepper
   1/2 c  Water                                    -Salt and pepper
     1 tb Sugar                                     to taste

Simmer:  Cook, stirring until sugar dissolves.  Allow time for flavors to
blend.
