This is my Z24's little corner if the web.

It's a 1996 model purchased new in August 96. This particular car was coming through our town as part of a dealer show. My wife saw it and just had to have it.

Being a showroom car, it's fully loaded. Power everthing, CD player, all the good stuff. At almost three years old, the car has just over 15,000 miles on it. But there's a HUGE difference to the miles mine has on it. They were all clocked off in Europe. Switzerland, Italy, Austria, France, and here in Germany where I live. Notice the plate is USA and not any state. It's one of those international jobs.

The biggest disadvantage to having a J-body car here in Germany is the 108 mph speed limiter. My Z24 has spent many miles with the cruise control set at 107... I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of an e-prom flash device. I hear that Superchip is working on one. I know for a fact that Hypertech is not. Of course, the biggest advantage to living in Germany....
I get to drive at 100+ mph all the time.

I have only done three mods to the car. The first is tinted windows. They are at 5%. Way illegal for the states, but OK here. The second is lowered 1" in front and 2" in the rear. These things come a little high in back. Mine now sits level, and rolls rock solid at speed. The third is the bra to keep the front protected during autobahn duty, and it's on for autobahn duty only. I ruined the paint on my old Camaro leaving the bra on all the time.

The next thing I want to get for this car will be the dual exhaust kit offered by RK Sport. I like the sound and the four chrome tips that exit under the rear facia. Looking around the internet, there seems to an amazing volume of aftermarket stuff available for the J-body cars. That's a good thing. HotRod Magazine did a review of the Z24 when the OBD-II version came out in 96 and predicted it would be a hot ticket. I think they hit the nail on the head.
