1999 Formula One
Provisional Schedule
The 1999 scheduled season sees 17 Grand Prix events fill the F1 calendar, compared with the 16 this year. The points to note are:
- China is the big surprise with it's GP as early as March. While another shock was the removal of Argentina. Malaysia is also the other country to enter into the F1 scene. Argentina is still being held in reserve in case either the Chinese or Malaysian Grand Prixs are cancelled.
- The San Marino and Hungarian GP's are pending confirmation. The Imola event is awaiting the outcome of a
decision based on the Italian law on "dangerous sports". While the track invasion at the 1998 Budapest race is the reason behind the assessment of the reviewed Hungary safety-plan.
