Brian Mclinden's 1934 Chevrolet Sedan

The car was purchased by me in 1973 from Alan Morris for $400.  Alan had the
car registered as a rod in Canberra with Customline running gear.  He had
purchased the car from Alan Cooper who had brought it down from Sydney in
the late 1960s. Alan had run the car as a stocker as well as rodding it.
The rodded chassis  was sold and now resides under a  Ford model T truck
still running around Canberra.  Alan had noticed the car around the
Carringbah area of  Sydney for many years before purchasing it himself.

The car was first registered by me in 1976 after a 3 year re-build using a
'64 Chev as the donor vehicle.  Since then the car has undergone a couple of
rejuvenations; two paint jobs, new front and rear ends, different steering
and braking systems; two new motors (Chev 283 to 327 to 350), two new
transmissions (auto to manual and back to auto).

The car has consumed only around $20,000 and has been quite reliable, never
letting me down on the open road. It now resides in Brisbane with me but
will be returning to Canberra around 2001.  Its front seat has the
distinction of being the place where my youngest son was born, which will
ensure that it stays in the McLinden family.
