Another hobby that I used to spend many long hours enjoying is astronomy. I am a past member of AAVSO and have recorded several hundred variable star observations. I have a 6 inch F-10 Newtonian reflector. Back in Illinois, two of my buddies and myself refurbished a 16 inch telescope for the local community college. That gave us unlimited access to the scope. We did several community programs for viewing Halley's comet. Alas, I do not observe as much as I used to, but I still enjoy reading about astronomy related topics. Do you recognize the star cluster in the background??

The reason I picked this neighborhood is I am an AVID race fan. I love all kinds of auto racing. I have been to the Indianapolis 500 three times. I attend several races a year. I went to the Daytona 500 in '96. That is an awesome spectacle!!! About the only thing that can compare with it is seeing the Winston Cup cars under the lights at Charlotte. I get goose bumps just thinking about it.
