Mrs Q gets an award!!!!!!!!!!
My lovely wife Mrs Q has been heavily involved in scouting. She started out as a den leader, then got drafted to be the pack leader. She never has learned how to say no, so she ended up running day camps, coordinating popcorn fundraisers, running roundtables, etc...........
She just finished her thesis to receive a Doctorate in Scouting Commisioner's College. She teaches at the college every year, helping new pack leaders to develop their programs
This picture was taken on 2/29/97. On that day, the Blue Ridge Council of the BSA gave Mrs Q the Silver Beaver Award. Those of you familiar with scouting know just how big an honor this is. It is the highest honor in scouting, and usually is only given to people that have dedicated 20-30 years to scouting. The fact that she received the award this early in her career speaks volumes about how special she really is. I am very proud of her.
So anyway, this is the Q family. Nick is on the left, Jason is the short one, then Mrs Q(Deb), then me, then Amie. You may notice that I am holding a rose. Since the recipient of the award is usually male, the spouse is given a rose. So I got the rose :)
